Art, like music, is a language spoken by the entire world

When I am at my easel, brush in hand, everyday worries drift away. I am enveloped in the colors and richness of the paint, the sound of the brush strokes on the canvas, and the sheer joy of doing something I truly love. Painting allows my mind to be fully occupied with all the decisions to be made: subject, composition, colors, focal point, and a myriad of other components. Thinking ahead and planning are the first steps before I ever pick up my brush. Consequently, my brain is often pushed to its creative limits and hopefully, it’s up to the task.

It’s only recently that I’ve fallen madly in love with abstract expressionism. The planning and thinking ahead have fallen by the wayside. Instead, I just let go, and let my brush do the walking. Although, as you’ll find, I do paint florals and the occasional landscape. But they are abstracted and bear little resemblance to the subject matter. But that’s what I love. Let the observers see what they want. Perhaps, they will see ordinary things in a new light. That’s my goal: emotion and a bit of questioning if things are not quite what they seem.

My paintings hang in the US, Great Britain, France and Belgium. I have been juried into multiple juried shows and have won a Talent Prize and a Bronze Award in international competitions in 2025 and 2026. I am a member of the Artists Cooperative Gallery in Westerly, RI, the South County Art Association in Wakefield, RI, Lyme Art Association in Lyme CT, the Wickford Art Associationi in Wickford, RI, the Tag Gallery in Boston, MA and the American Women’s Art Association. I continue to accept commissions.
