FROM REPRESENTATIONAL TO ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM
My artistic journey began quite a few years ago, but it’s only been in the last few years that I’ve devoted my time and energy to my art.
I earned my degree in Italian literature, with a sub-specialty in the life and works of the great Dante Alighieri. Spending my junior year in Florence allowed me to completely immerse myself in Italian art, history, literature and culture.
But life is full of twist and turns. After moving to Rhode Island, I became a Realtor for 32 years. When I retired, I was finally able to do what I loved: PAINT! I began as a representational artist, but very recently, I have fallen in love with abstract expressionism. It’s such a freeing and spontaneous style, the perfect avenue for expressing myself. I love playing with shapes and forms and colors. It always amazes me how differently an observer interprets my paintings. Often, what they see surprises and intrigues me. It is precisely that which I love with abstract art. There is beauty and mystery, making every work I create an adventure.
My paintings hang in the US, Belgium, France and Great Britain. I am a member of the Artist’s Cooperative Gallery of Westerly, the South County Art Association and the Lyme Art association. I am also a member of the Wickford Art Association. In addition, I am a member of TAG The Art Gallery in Boston, MA.
I was awarded a Talent Award, 2 years in a row, in a juried exhibition by The Telavarna International Contemporary Art Gallery in Los Angeles. This encompassed artists from 35 countries. I have also accepted several commissions.
In 2025 and 2026, I have had solo shows at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI, where I sold quite a few paintings, both in oil and acrylics. My pieces have been juried into art exhibitions, both in representational art, as well as abstract expressionism.
"For me, painting is the path to creation, self-expression and self-awareness, as well as confidence. My art is my way to bring pleasure to others while living the dream."
